Morning comes too soon

Well, it's 8:30 am and I'll Traci is trying desperately to peel her eyelids open. We kept the kids while she and her hubby went to a concert her in Houston Sat. night. Then, after the concert, they apparently decided to trek to Lake Charles,LA to gamble (and drink). When they came to pick up the kids Sunday evening she was complaining about how tired she was because she had not had any sleep. This is the same person who berated her sister for "not hanging with the big dogs" not too long ago. Seems the shoe's on the other foot. Spur of the monment will get you every time.

On another note. I am really glad Morgan Freeman won the Best Supporting Actor award. He is most worthy. From The Electric Company on PBS to Oscar on ABC! Good Job

Yet again

Here I sit again, waiting for details I asked for about baby sitting. Some people are more interested in self promotion than making sure they take care of details.Taking people for granted, yet again. This is not good

I'm Afraid, very afraid

What's wrong with Shrek? This morning I hear that some Christian conservatives are berating him. This is getting out of hand. They dont like Bert and Ernie and Sponge Bob. I've seen all of these dont find anything objectional about them. I tend to agree with them (a little) regarding nipplegate, tho I thought her dancers were way too suggestive. But come on, my kids grew up with Big Bird and the group. They haven't suffered significant damage. I think the Power Puff girls are too mean, but I have not heard any conservative complaints. The Simpsons, I feel is more of an adult cartoon, and as such may not always be suitable for some people. But to complain about programs and cartoons which are sweet, gentle and funny, to me, is much ado about nothing. What would Mr. Rogers say?

Joan reminded me

I watched "Joan of Arcadia" the other day and was brought back to moments in time. When Joan and her mother argued it reminded me of the relationship with my mother. We clashed more than Joan and her mom, but I never went behind her back. I thought a lot of very evil thoughts though. Now my kids, on the other hand... if I said no, I might as well have said go ahead screw up your life. Sometimes I felt that they did everything they could to irritate me. Everything from relationships they weren't ready for to being arrested for shoplifting. There was a point with one of my daughters that the high school principal and I were on speed dial. She liked to skip school. Just how many grandmothers can one kid have? Now, the oldest has three of her own, 9,3 and 2. Payback time! It is just begining.

To Tregetour-thanks for the encouragment as I stumble kicking and screaming into this new world.

How did I do this?

Good grief! What have I done?I have just done a very scarry thing. Blog...Have no real clue as to what I am doing. My daughter Traci has a blog, but this is a new venture for me. Of course, when they find out, I am sure Traci, Annie, Pat and Amanda will be seen rolling on the floor laughing at me. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Even Erma Bombeck had to start somewhere.
